Fatima Sana Shaikh Early Life and Family

Sana Shaikh was born in Hyderabad on 11th January 1992 and brought up in Mumbai. She is 30 years old now. Sana Shaikh completed her schooling in St. Xavier High school Mumbai and completed her graduation in Mithibhai college Mumbai. Her mother’s name is Raj Tabassum and her father’s name is Vipin Sharma.  Her father hailed from Jammu and her mother is from Srinagar. In an interview, she stated that her mother belongs to the Muslim religion and her father belongs to the Hindu religion and they got love marriage. She is an Atheist and believes love is god. Apart from acting,

she is also very much interested in dancing. She has indulged in photography prior to becoming an actor. From her childhood onwards she started to act in films and she is very much talented in acting. Sana Shaikh is having one elder brother named “Shaanib”. She is still unmarried and single. Recently, She diagnosed Covid-19 +ive. Anil Kapoor sent her homemade food for which she thanked him on Instagram.

Fatima Sana Shaikh Career

At the age of 5, she started acting in Hindi films as a child artist. In the year 1997, she has appeared in her first film Chachi 420 with actor Kamalahasan and One 2 Ka 4 with actor Sharukh khan as a child artist. After some years she was again featured in the film Tahaan as Zoya for this film she received  “The German Star of India Award” at the “Bollywood and Beyond” festival in Stuttgart Germany in 2009. She also worked in various advertisements and got so many brand endorsements. Sana also appeared for a brief period of time on Zee TV`s Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo as Suman.

In early 2015, she almost gave up her acting dreams for cinematography, as she was jobless for last 3 years. But, in April 2015, she auditioned for Dangal (2016), and after 6 rounds she got selected.

Her words after Dangal flim success “At one point, I had lost my confidence as an actor, and working again was tough. I started stammering due to lack of confidence. It took time, but things became better.I was about to give up acting when I got the call about being short-listed for Dangal”

Fatima Sana Shaikh played the movie Dhangaal along with the leading star of Bollywood “Amir Khan” and Malhotra. The movie was directed by Nithes Tiwari and it is a biographical film of the person Geetha Pogat (Sports Person). In this movie, Fatima Sana Shaikh portrayed the life of a young female wrestler. For this movie, she did many home works and also learned wrestling to give the real effect for the character.

Both Malhotra and Sheikh went through five rounds of auditions, physical training, and workshops with Tiwari and Aamir Khan. Sana also got trained by the wrestler coach Kripa Shankar Patel Bishnoi. For this all struggles and effort the movie got mega-hit and received high grossing Indian film ever with earnings of more than ₹2,000 crore (US$280 million) worldwide.

During the shooting of Dangal her ankle was broken due to misjudgment and timing. She and Zaira Wasim, Malhotra stayed in Amir khan’s house for more than 6 months during the Dangal movie shoot.

After that movie see played Zafira Baig, a warrior-archer Thug in the epic action-adventure film, Thugs of Hindostan. Soon she is going to play the Tamil remake movie Aruvi in the Hindi language.

Recently in the year 2020, Fatima Sana Shaikh appeared in the Netflix movie Ludo directed by Anurag Basu. She also acted in a comedy-drama movie Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari in the same year through Netflix.
