Early Life and Family

Disha Patani was born in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, India in 1992. She is a Kumaoni from a Rajput background. Her father is Jagadish Singh Patani, he is a DSP in the Uttar Pradesh Police Department and her mother is a health inspector. Her elder sister, Khushboo Patani is a lieutenant in the Indian Army. She also has a younger brother, his name is Suryansh Patani. She has studied Electronic Engineering at Amity Universit in Lucknow. She revealed her real surname was Patni in a radio show. and she was the first runner-up of Pond’s Femina Miss India Indore 2013.

Career

Disha Patani started her career as a model and did various TV advertisements and modeling assignments. After getting remarked in many commercials, she shifted to Mumbai intending to pursue her ultimate vision of acting in Bollywood movies. She was supposed to star in Karan Johar’s sex comedy film ‘No Sex Please’, We are Indians, but the movie was shelved. And after that that she was again taken on by Ekta Kapoor and Karan Johar for her debut movie named ‘Vanity Fair’ which never took off her.

And then she made her first leading role in the film Loafer (Telegu) in 2015 which was directed by Puri Jagannath. Then her first Bollywood debut movie was with the M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story released in the year 2016, where Sushant Singh Rajput and her played one of the heroines in that film. She also won an IFFA Award for Star Debut of the year Female, Screen Award for Best Female Debut, and Stardust Award for Best Acting Debut for the movie. She also did a music video opposite Tiger Shroff which has received 32 Million views on YouTube. She was part of Jackie Chan’s movie project Kung Fu Yoga in the year 2017. Patani worked in Baaghi 2 opposite Tiger Shroff in April 2018, Directed by Ahmed Khan and Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. And she has also done her commercials and modeling in the industry.
