Early Life and Family of Kalyani Priyadarshan

She was born on 5th April 1993 and she is 28 years old. Kalyani was born and brought up in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She completed her early schoolings in Lady Andal School, Chennai. After that, she went to Singapore for her higher schoolings where she also participated and trained in theatre shows. Then she decided to go to New York, America for her higher studies and got graduated in Architecture from Parson school of design. During this time she also interned in theatre at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. Returning to India, she has attended an acting workshop in Adishakti Theatre, Pondicherry.

Her father’s name is Priyadharsan Soman Nair is a well-known director and Producer of both Tamil and Malayalam cinemas. Her mother’s name is Lissy who is a cine actress and appeared in many Malayalam movies. Kalyani family belongs to Kerala but settled in Chennai. Her mother tongue is Malayalam only. She belongs to the Hindu religion and Nair caste. Kalyani is having one younger brother named “Siddarth” who is also studying college abroad. She is currently single and unmarried.

In the year 2014, her father and mother got divorced and separated and this made a big depression and shocking in her life and she holds on her career path for 3 years due to this incident. Then later in an interview, Kalayani made a strong statement that she is no longer going to do films along with her father.

Her career starts in the year 2013, initially, she worked as an assistant production designer under Sabu Cyril in the Hindi film Krrish 3. After that, for 3 years she does get a proper opportunity to start her career. In the year 2016, she again worked as an assistant director for Irumugan Movie started by actor Vikram. Then In the following year, she got an opportunity to act as a heroine in the Telugu film “Hello” opposite Akhil Akkineni. It was directed by Vikram Kumar, a former assistant to Priyadarshan, and produced by actor Akkineni Nagarjuna. In the year 2019, she also appeared in a Telugu movie Chitralahari, Ranarangam, and the Tamil movie Hero opposite to Siva Karthikeyan.

The movie hello released at the end of 2017 and got a good positive response for her acting skills which made her more confident about acting. Her Malayalam debut movie was with the period war film Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham (2020) directed by Priyadarshan (her father), although her first release in the language was the family drama Varane Avashyamund (2020). Currently, she is doing many movies with industry-leading Top stars in both Malayalam and Tamil.

The most awaited Kalyani’s upcoming Malayalam movie Vaan with Dulquer Salmaan going to release in Dec 2020. Her Tamil upcoming movie Maanadu is making a huge eagerness among the Tamil people. In this movie, she is acting opposite Little Super Star Silambarasan.
