Aluminum’s versatility in industrial uses is impressive, covering everything from structural components to heat management solutions. This flexibility stems from a single alloy family capable of serving multiple roles like structure, cladding, retention, and thermal conduction, a feat unmatched by steel.

In comparing Indonesia extruded aluminum manufactures, many engineers focus on consistency and quality. Exalummetal industrial aluminum products known for their precise manufacturing and comprehensive product lineup. Exalum Metal has been producing aluminum extrusions in Indonesia for decades with strict quality control. Using billets of 6063-T5 or 6061-T6, the extrusions maintain dimensional accuracy across repeated runs. Their Tangerang facility keeps dies under continuous maintenance, and shipments come with a 30-day quality guarantee. Below are five common profiles from their catalog, illustrating the range from the simplest flat bar to complex heat sink designs.

    Flat Bar

Flat bar is the simplest aluminum extrusion profile, essentially a solid rectangular strip widely used for brackets, cleats, and stiffeners with minimal additional machining. Each flat bar comes with a fixed profile code for easy ordering, avoiding the need for shape descriptions. The catalog includes fine strips like section 10013 at 19.05 x 1.59 mm weighing 0.081 kg/m, all the way to heavier bars such as section 10251 measuring 115.00 x 10.00 mm at 3.117 kg/m. This largest size is often chosen to replace fabricated plates, offering a strong yet lightweight structural option.

    Spandrel

Spandrel profiles are designed specifically for architectural applications, typically used as the opaque panels between glazing on curtain walls. They cover slab edges and conceal building services, providing a clean finish. The extrusion process produces a shallow and wide shape ideal for spandrels, which rolling methods cannot replicate. For example, shape 62051 spans 102.50 mm with a 0.80 mm wall thickness and weighs only 0.246 kg/m. Moreover, custom systems can request dedicated dies for unique designs.

    Equal Angle

Equal angle profiles join two equal legs at a right angle, making them ideal for lightweight structural support, such as corner reinforcements, bracing, and panel edging. Exalum Metal offers 16 different equal angle types, varying by dimensions and weight. Type 20025 is a fine edging profile measuring 12.70 x 0.80 mm and weighing just 0.053 kg/m, useful for minimal framing. Midrange options like type 20046, measuring 19.00 x 1.20 mm at 0.120 kg/m, are stiff enough for enclosures requiring frequent handling.

    C Channel

C Channel, sometimes called unequal channel, features a U-shaped profile with webs and flanges varying in size to accommodate boards, panels, or glass within a retaining slot. This profile’s groove allows secure positioning of various inserts.

Exalum Metal produces five variants in this category. The everyday capping size is variant 32032 at 25.40 x 12.70 mm and 0.119 kg/m. For applications requiring a taller flange to grip material tightly, the deeper variant 32042 measures 12.70 x 50.80 mm and weighs 0.182 kg/m. These dimensions offer flexibility for different clamping or structural needs.

    Heat Sink

At the technical end of the spectrum, heat sink profiles are critical for thermal management in electronics such as inverters, lighting, or drives. Heat sinks maximize perimeter surface to dissipate heat effectively rather than depending purely on outer dimensions. Larger extrusions like code 96002 measure 97.00 x 26.00 mm with 1.20 mm thick fins and an extensive developed perimeter of 689.313 mm, weighing 1.021 kg/m. For tighter spaces, code 96007 fits compact mounts at 19.00 x 15.00 mm with 148.425 mm of perimeter, weighing 0.277 kg/m.

These five extrusion profiles show the broad utility of aluminum in industrial applications. All profiles are extruded from the same high-quality billets, and offered in mill finish, anodized, or powder coated forms to suit specific project needs.
