For businesses, system administrators, and website owners, internet security has always been a major concern. These threats are becoming more widespread and diverse in nature in today’s digital world. With so many new attack vectors and vulnerabilities being discovered on a daily basis, it’s more important than ever to keep an eye out for potential security threats.

Follow these simple steps to create a secure website:

    Individual Protection

Individuals should ensure they are running the most recent software versions and are actively updating their anti-virus definitions. It’s a good idea to change your passwords on a regular basis, use stronger passwords, and never store them in plain text.

    Safeguard Your Website

Your website is always accessible to the entire internet, and our system administrators are constantly monitoring our servers and networks for potential security threats. At all times of day, we log and analyze malicious activity from every country. This ensures that your website remains safe and visible.

However, you should be aware that your website may still be vulnerable to malicious attacks such as Cross-site Scripting (XSS), SQL Injections (SQLi), Inclusion Vulnerabilities (LFI and RFI), Brute Force attacks, and others.

    Maintain your CMS

Many websites nowadays are built using content management systems (CMS) like WordPress, Joomla, Magento, Drupal, and others. Third-party themes, add-ons, and plugins for each of these systems can be easily installed to improve website functionality. Unfortunately, this is the method by which a potential bug is introduced, discovered, and exploited. Your first line of defense in keeping your website secure is to apply updates as they become available. If your CMS supports it, we also recommend that you enable auto-updates, which will update your site for you as new versions become available.

    Password Security

Even if your password was just changed yesterday, it can still be easily compromised by brute forcing or cracking. Here are some tips and suggestions to keep you safe when selecting your next password:

Passwords should be at least 10 characters long (the more characters, the better).

Passwords must include at least one character from each of the following categories:

Lowercase letters (a-z), Uppercase letters (A-Z), Number (0-9) and common Symbol (for example, %; &; +;)

SSL is also a good way to secure your website.

In today’s digital landscape, securing your website with SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a critical aspect of online presence. Certificate ssl encrypt data exchanged between a user’s browser and your web server, ensuring the privacy and security of sensitive information such as login credentials, personal information, and payment transactions. This not only builds trust with your website visitors, but it also protects your company from cyber threats.

Furthermore, SSL is required for the proper operation of many modern web features and technologies, such as progressive web apps (PWAs) and HTTP/2. Using SSL is no longer an option for any website owner who wants to protect their users, improve their search engine rankings, and keep up with evolving web standards. Don’t underestimate the importance of SSL in the security and success of your online presence.
